Camera History

This is my digital camera collection, It spans about 12 years. I don’t actually have any of these camera’s expect for the very last one.keep all of them I usually sell the last one to purchase the new one.
Casio QV-10a: This my first digital camera, it only had internal memory and had not flash. The only cool thing about it was that the lens swiveled.
320×240 – 1995

1

Casio QV-11: This was basically the same as the QV-10 but I think it brought more accessories it was a different color.
320×240 – 1996

2

Ricoh RDC-2: This camera had a weird feature, the LCD screen was removable. The optical viewfinder was horrible and it was Y-interlaced so the quality really sucked.
760 x 576 – 1996

3

Epson 700: This was the first usable digital camera I had. The image quality was great, the battery life was also very good when using NI-CAD batteries. I took thousands of pictures with this camera.
1024×768 – 1998

4

Olympus 340: This was a very nice camera. It was small battery life was great, nice looking case. The only issue was that It used Smart Media cards which were slow, small in capacity and not too common $$.
1MP – 1998

5

Nikon CoolPix 800: Very nice camera awesome picture quality compared to the rest so far. I sold this to one of my friends who drooped into a river in Cuzco, Peru. He was walking across a rope bridge.
2MP – 1999

6

Nikon CoolPix 990: This was a very nice camera. I used this camera for a long time. The image quality was very good, the lens swiveled, good battery life. Took thousands of pictures with this model. I even purchased the wide-angle Nikon lens for it.
3MP – 2000

7

Minolta Dimage 7: Great lens, white balance was always off. Lousy battery life.
5MP – 2002

8

Minolta Dimage 7i: Same Great lens improved battery life.

9

Canon 10D: The first expensive camera I owned, great image quality. BIG and heavy. Sensor was prone to dust. I sold this model and was very disappointed with SLR’s due o my own inexperience with RAW and post processing.

6MP – 2003

10

Nikon CoolPix 4500: Nice camera great size, swiveled lens. It was more compact that the earlier 990. This was the last Nikon I purchased. I dodn’t like the way Nikon oversaturates all the images to make them “Pop”. Maybe this was an issue with their consumer cameras but I never bought Nikon again.
4MP – 2002

11

Minolta Dimage A2: Great Camera it had antishake technology. The lens was truly great and no dust issues ever. I really liked Minolta they had great cameras and was very sad to see them sell their Digital Camera bussiness to Sony.
8MP – 2004

12

Canon S50: Great color quality, small, awesome camera. Took family pictures with it mainly
5MP – 2003

13

Canon 20D: Nice Camera the grip was not too comfortable. Mine had a Hot pixel that would show up in some cases.
8MP – 2004

14

Canon SD600: Great little camera I use it for family shots and it takes video at 640×480 30fps. I used the video function lots of times and posted them straight to Google/Youtube.
6MP – 2006

15

Canon 40D: Very nice camera, great grip. Live view with its 3″ LCD. Self-cleaning sensor!. Same IQ as full sensor 5D.

I consider myself a Canon guy now… just switched all my lenses to Canon “L” series lenses.

10MP – 2007

16

Samsung NV24HD: Nice looking camera but horrible image quality, super
compressed images, menu system was cute at first but got old very quick… on
the positive side video was very good 720P I couldn't edit it on my Mac but its
probably a codec issue.
10MP – 2007 (Two weeks before I returned it)

17

Canon G9: Awesome camera, it supports RAW and works with my Speedlights
shoots 640×490 video. A bit slow when focusing and shooting but not bad. A
little bulky too.
12MP – 2008 Its my "family cam"

18

Canon 5D MKII: Full frame high ISO monster camera….
21MP – 2009
